It is imperative that you drink water with your meals!  You will not achieve the goals you have for yourself and your body if you are consuming beverages with high sugar levels such as sodas or sweetened teas!!!!

Great 200-Calorie Snacks

Salty Snacks
1oz peanuts (about 25)
1oz cashews (about 17)
1oz mixed nuts
1 oz almonds (about 18)
Protein Snacks
2 med hard boiled eggs
4 oz grilled chicken breast (skinless)
6 oz white tuna (in water)
3 oz turkey slice in whole wheat tortilla
Fruit/ Veggies
¾ cup strawberries
½ cup dried apricots
1 apple w/ 1 tbsp peanut butter
1 cup cubed cantaloupe

Eating tips to help you!!!

  1. After one week, raise your calorie level by adding additional snacks from the 200-Calorie snack list, or resume a healthy balanced diet.  A good rule of thumb to determine how many calories your body needs for maintaining its current weight is to multiply your current weight by 10.  This number will be your calorie level (for example, if you weigh 150 then your intake is 1500 calories).
  2. Stay Hydrated!  Divide your weight in half and drink that many fluid ounces of water each day.  Remember, sodas will cause you to become DEHYDRATED so AVIOD them!
  3. Fiber helps you to feel full longer.  Try veggies, whole grains, and fruits.  The grains are best earlier in the day because they are high in carbohydrates.
  4. Always eat breakfast.  Never skip a meal.  You must keep that metabolism going so as not to have your body store any meals.
  5. Great cooking starts with baking, steaming, broiling, or grilling.
  6. Don’t deprive yourself.  You can enjoy your favorite treats in small portions, just remember-IF YOU THINK IT’S BAD FOR YOU… IT PROBABLY IS
